Bangladesh, former East Pakistan, is an extremely poor country. About a third of the country floods annually during the monsoon season, hampering economic development. Catholics number a tiny minority in the midst of 160 million people, 87% of whom are Muslim and 10% Hindu.

Mark Riedemann interviews Bishop Moses M. Costa, C.S.C., of the Chittagong Diocese, Bangladesh, about the lives of Catholics in his country.
