The beautiful island of Sri Lanka is a diverse country, home to many religions, ethnicities and languages. It is the land of the Sinhalese, Sri Lankan Tamils, Moors, Indians, Tamils, and other ethnic groups. The country has a rich Buddhist heritage, although different religions coexist in Sri Lanka. The country’s recent history has been marred by a thirty-year civil war that finally ended in 2009.
