On Christmas day 2011, a bomb exploded outside St. Theresa´s parish in Madalla, Nigeria, leaving a death toll of 40 people. Extremist militant Islamic group Boko Haram Muslim claimed responsibility. Catholic leaders throughout Nigeria have called for peace and restraint from retaliation. They are intent on healing those who have been traumatized, regardless of faith. They seek to break down the walls of hatred and suspicion through dialogue and understanding.
